From: (none) Subject: Anti-Frankenstein bolt install problems Date: (none)
I got the two bolts from Roebuck to replace the "Frankenstein" bolts. The one on the driver's side came out OK, but when I threaded the new bolt in, it didn't go down as low as the existing rearward one, and it sticks up above the surface of the chrome plate and looks a little funny. Should I try replacing it without the washer it came with? When I went to remove the passenger's side F-bolt, just the top of the bolt came off, leaving a threaded stud sticking out of the chrome plate. How do I get that sucker loose to remove it and replace it with the regular bolt?
