} 	I have a '91 (red) which make a creaking sound when I put in the clutch. 

} Only 58K.  Sounds kind of like a door that needs to be oiled.  The guy at

} clutch-mart I talked to on the phone said it might be the bushes but didn't

} have much time on Miata clutches.  Also read on the list that it could mean

} I need to greese the clutch plate.  Can anybody confirm either of these

} opinions?



If it's coming from the area of the pedal, try some lithium grease on the

spring.  The service manual specifies grease on the bushings, too,

though it looks like a real pain to remove the spring to get to the

bushings.
