Yup, that was the diff on my 91A that went out...just driving in a parking lot 

and clunk...car stops dead.  I restart and it seems okay except I can't shift 

into any gear and when I try it sound bad.  So, I try to push the car into a 

spot, didn't work because the gear lost a bunch of teeth which got caught in 

the case and stop the gear from moving.  The dealer charged me $1600 for a new 

gear and installation.



This all happened on the way to the bank to get cash so I could buy the for 

sale signs for it since I was planning on getting a 95M at the time...I guess 

it all worked out as I got a 96M instead:)

HEY GANG:



The king of the hapless here......my read diff went with a klunk today.



No Bill, not driving like snot.......just making a right turn and then

"thunk,.......clank, clank...."



Tranny is fine, gears work, engine rumbles as usual.



I think I remeber someone else's rear diff going dead.



So any input on what the bill might be?
