Adam Revak recently posted: >>>I recently bought a red '91 B pkg with 18K miles. The car was garaged at previous owner's home & parked under a canopy at their place of work. The paint looks show-room new in most places. However, it is noticeably faded on that piece of plastic that sits between the brake lights. I think I noticed this on other Miatas that I looked at. Does anyone know of a solution for this? Is removing & painting this piece feasible? This car was in a minor wreck before I owned it. A rear-end bump at a toll booth - damage in the < $300 range and I don't think the body part in question was affected. Any ideas? <<< Adam, I've noticed mine (a white '91) is also prone to fading. Either that, or it just absorbs more dirt that the metal pieces sorrounding it. It's very easy to remove, however. You'll have to remove your license plate and the tailights, but it's a straightforward process. I've taken mine off before to polish and wax, and found it much easier to do with it laying flat on the kitchen table, rather than with me crouched down behind the car. FWIW - if you're a real fanatic, or competing in concourse, the bumpers are not that hard to remove, either. This lets you really clean in that area around the top that's wide enough to let in dirt, but too narrow to get a cleaning rag in there. On a white car, that channel turns brown over time.
