A lot of newer email programs have filters that can sort mail for you. Microsoft actually came late to the game. And, unfortunately, most mail programs save messages on a file-per-file basis. There should be nonetheless be a setting so that a deleted message is actually deleted. This message, by the way, is coming from BeyondMail, the mail program that invented filtering. When I delete a message, it stays deleted. From: "Chris Sobczak", on 2/28/97 7:51 PM: i recently got a "low hard drive message" from the computer, so i was looking around on that drive, and i found Microsoft's Internet mail creates a file(.mbx) which stores old mail. the program automatically creates 1 file for each folder. deleting them gave me 112 megabytes. i really like the program for reading Miata mail from the list. dividing personnel and list mail can easily be done with the inbox assistant.
