I can definitely tell you that aluminum and copper in contact with each other will cause corrosion. I bought a set of BMW valve stem caps for my brother-in-law for his birthday. You know the kind I'm talking about; the ones with the little emblem on the cap. Anyway, he wound up having to use a chisel to remove two of them because the copper to aluminum contact had caused the two to bond to each other in such a complete way that they could not be removed without brute force.
