Won't muss your hair. Ahh, some of you guys just don't understand weather. There are times when it's too cold to drive top down with the windows down. We all have our minimum topless temperature, and putting up windows (and adding windblockers) will gradually lower that temperature by keeping some heat inside the cockpit. Given wonderful weather, I keep the windows down where they belong. When it gets colder (Californians - you don't know what I mean here), more drastic measures must be taken to ensure the driver survives without having to raise the lid. Of course, in those sort of temperatures, you can't move the top to the up position anyhow as it's too cold :) The other time is for highway driving. As some of you know, Jocelyn and I are currently separated by 600 km of straight, flat tarmac. If I go to visit her and I drive in the fully open position the whole way, I can't walk straight when I arrive - never mind carry on a conversation (we don't cruise at 65 mph here). Adding the glass helps. Of course, as soon as I arrive at my destination or I drop below warp speed, the windows go down where they belong. One note - when we were in England, we saw loads of convertibles. They ALL had the tops down, in weather that would have the palm fronds dropping on the Le Barons in California. It was postulated that there was no point in having the tops up, however, as most of them just redirected the wind and moisture instead of actually stopping it.
