Did anybody see the "Best Handling Car for Under $30,000" article in the latest Car and Driver (June, I think). The Miata made it into the test batch. The article made for some pretty interesting reading. The rankings were Honda Prelude SH #1, BMW 318ti Sport #2, and the Miata #3. They did say that the Miata gave the most thrills (amusement park ride in their terms) :) Seeing how my other car is a base 318ti, I can attest to how surprisingly well it handles. Because of the BMWs larger and taller body, you don't think it can hang in there in the curves but it does. However, the Miata just feels better slicing up curves. I think this was kind of C&Ds position also. I wonder what would happened if they tested an R? ;) BTW - There was also a photo of the new Z-3 M edition. Pretty impressive specs, but at around $50K. It appears that they have added our favorite accessory to it in the form of a black double hump style bar ! I really wish BMW and Porsche would stop taking our ideas :) Mike & MIKRO - Black/Tan 95
