If you are referring to the "Flat" cap then over here it is common knowledge that those caps are surgically attached at birth to all males born in the North of England. I should know, I only had mine removed when I moved to the South of England 9 years ago so that I could fit in with the locals. I still keep it as a reminder of my heritage though and I thought I was wearing it at Brooklands for a time, when you all invaded our shores, but I can't remember now. I have a beard as well. Oh No! Flat cap and beard - maybe I should by an MG!
