}     What is the best kind of timing light/gun to buy?



Get the kind with the bright light (xenon, I think, as opposed to neon).

     

}     Also, is there a special cord required to use the underhood power 

}     plug?



I stick a short length of wire into the connector and hook the timing

light's alligator clip to that.  A paper clip would probably work too.
