I've also noticed that the use of a >real roll bar seems to preclude the use of the conv. boot. ...or is there a >special boot out there that has slots/holes for the brace of a real roll bar? That special boot is your stock one. You merely need to pick out some stitching in the lower part of the boot that connects the bottom horizontal piece to the vertical piece that runs around the inside of the car. Confused? I'll try some ASCII art... bear with me... here goes... ---- ---- << Horizontal piece that runs around the top of the boot | | << Vertical piece |_________| ^ ^^^^^ Horizontal piece that lies flat on the rear deck. ^ | pick out the stitching here and its corresponding stitching on the driver's side of the car. Go back until the stitching curves from fore/aft to port/starboard. Continue for an inch or two. Tie the stitching off so that it doesn't unravel anymore. It should fit around the rear braces. To get a finished look, sew some welting around the unstitched edges and attach a couple of pieces of the hook side of hook/loop Velcro to the underside of the boot so that it sticks to the carpeting. Remember, the use of a rear-braced rollbar precludes the preferred unzipped window. I use a large, soft towel rolled into a cylinder to put in the window as I drop the top, allowing the zipper to remain closed and keeping the window from being creased. Woody can be found in Keith's stripe registry. There you can see a full shot of her, with her boot on. It doesn't show how to pick the stitching out, but it does show how she looks with her rollbar and boot together. Scott and Woody, booted and barred.
