Especailly as we have identical cars!  I know what you mean though.  I

find maybe 30% of the Miatas I wave to wave back around here.  Almost

never, though, does another Miata initiate the wave.  It's always me

first.  Oh well.  Perhaps it has something to do with the media always

warning people not to look at other drivers to avoid so-called "road

rage" incidents.

Dear Jim and Jade: if you really want to know the truth, I have the 

same problem here in Chicago!  I wave and wave and only occasionally 

get a wave back... I guess we '97 M's are particularly friendly! How do 

you like the car?  I almost bought a '96 M but am much happier with our 

green mica paint.  The '96 M starlight blue sometimes looks black from 

a distance.  Our green always stands out!  I also like the wheel rims! 

Happy motoring and if I am ever in Birmingham, I will be sure to waive!
