Yeah, I almost failed tech inspection at a national autocross event because

my '90 A package Miata clunked when the steering wheel was wiggled back and

forth, and the next one over didn't.  Lucky there were 5 or 6 other Miatas

and it turned out that all of the PS racks did it, but the manual racks

didn't.   I don't remember ever hearing it on the street however.
