Two weeks I had a factory stereo that occasionally did not turn on at all;

 the headrest sound was barely audible w/ the top down; half the lights in

the face of the unit were burned out; and the stereo was mounted in a

*squeaky* dash center panel.



Now, all of that is fixed, thanks to Jeff Anderson's radio modification.



It is ABSOLUTELY WORTH THE TIME, $, AND EFFORT to pull your own radio, send

it to Jeff, and get this mod ($40 bucks + shipping).  I hate taking things

apart, I'm not so adept with tools.  This was easy.
