You might want to try just removing the fixed antenna when you put the

cover on; once you loosen it once (an adjustable wrench works fine), you

can finger tighten it after that (our finger tight antenna has seen speeds

over 100 mph without incident).



Saves the extra cost, weight, and mechanical unreliability of a motorized

antenna....
