Subject: CANCER AUCTION PAYMENTS

                                THANKS FOR YOUR PROMPT PAYMENT !!



As of 31 July, we now have received payment for 35 of the 96 auction items

that were up for bid -- 36% of the auction items have now been officially

"purchased".



If you sent along any special instructions or shipping information, it has

been duly noted.  I will start to box up the items and print mailing labels

this weekend in order to start the shipping process next week.

Thanks to Mazda Great Lakes for their corporate donation to help pay the

shipping costs.



Many of you were thoughtful enough to include the ITEM NUMBER with your check.  

Thanks A Lot !!  That made it much easier to match up payments with with my

list of bidders.  A couple of you even mailed printouts of the web page

showing the item you bid on.  GREAT !!



Thanks for the many nice notes concerning the Dave Eckert family and for

your kudos and praise of the Cancer Auction itself.



It was hard work that was well worth it.  Gary Fischman and I appreciate

your kind sentiments.



And Dave's family sends a Big Hug to every one of you !!

And even now, the generous hearts of our Miata Brethren beat even faster.

To wit -- 



One individual, who bid on a multiple item, sent an extra $30 to match the

high bidder at the top of the list for that item.



And another bidder sent an extra $100 to "pay" for an UNSUCCESSFUL BID !  

Wow ! Talk about GENEROSITY !!



We even received a monetary donation from our ever-gracious and lovely Miata

friend in The Netherlands, Petra van den Berge.



WE ARE WELL ON OUR WAY TO HITTING THE $10,000 MARK !!!



I am absolutely overwhelmed and blown away.  This just bears out what my

good friend from the Puget Sound Chapter always says.  To quote Miata-phile

extraordinaire, Chuck Price, "You don't just buy a Miata, you get a whole

second family." 



You folks are indeed Dave's Second Family !!  I'm proud of every one of you !!
