Jay Lamm writes in the current issue of Sports Car International that "... as far as easy to drive, entertaining, and truly affordable roadsters go, this (1997 Miata M-Edition) is still the only game in town." He adds, "Had the Miata been introduced last week instead of last decade, it still would have been a winner." Finally, "And while a LIGHTER, STIFFER, AND QUICKER SECOND-GENERATION MIATA is arriving next year, the present MX5 remains a bonafide automotive phenomenon. These are just too rare to ignore." The emphasis above is mine and is, I think, very interesting and very positive! Jay is very close to the top folks at Mazda in Irvine, including Tom Matano who was VP in charge of design for the development of the 1998 Miata. However I'm not implying that I think Tom would leak anything to Jay...Tom is extremely discrete, as he has to be. John Emerson, 1992 sunburst Yellow A Middlebury, Vermont
