Joseph wants to abuse Guppy: ;-) >>> So what is the proper method from getting a nice chirp going from first to second? I've been a little hesistant to just experiment in case my intuition on the subject is a little more extreme than it needs to be. Even for juvenile behavior, there's always a proper way! <<< Joe, Don't lift the gas. When the tach swings past 6000 (or 6500, if you've been practicing) make the quick shift to 2nd and pop the clutch, all the time with your right foot planted. 7000 rpm is more than enough to "grab second." Muscle-car guy showed me this trick when Miatoy was new. I wouldn't have believed I could grab 2nd in a 116hp car until he did it. :) Todd & Miatoy
