got up @ 5am just to drive up and drive deal's gap with a bunch of miata nuts. wow! got there about 8:45, driving relative backroads from atlanta. they were forming up for a group picture, so the no fear miata from atlanta is back right in the pictures, if we're in there at all. pic's not important - meeting all the neat people was! and then, we drove off down deal's gap to chilhowee (?) lake, and off to the foothills parkway to cool off everyone's brakes. suffice it to say i was one of several people quite amused at following a pontiac sedan through deal's gap. that lady musta been a local - she tried to stay outta the grill of the miata behind her. squealing of tires, smell of brakes - we were playing boy racer (and girl racer) and would hang back, then charge up, hang back, charge... wow! mary, scott - thanks so very much for the opportunity! i haven't been on some of those roads for 25 years - and a miata is MUCH BETTER than a MkII sprite, even if the steering is slow! i was amazed at how much i could do with a Team Bonestock, with BridgeRock 96 PEP miata could do. if you weren't there - well, you need to schedule time on that road. we saw nary a one of them huge trucks - just many nice people who figured out after a few miles that they were holding up 42-43 miatae. i had to turn off the CD just to listen to all those motors on song... and of course, Kathy's antenna splitter tech session was fun...but that story is for the participants to tell... and scott wanted to post the deal's gap story - remember, he was in the lead going out... bt There are two major forces in the Universe, the force of Gravity and the force of Levity.
