I'd have bought this last September, but when I first joined the list nearly a year ago, this was one of the first threads I remember. It hasn't changed. I don't think it's a scam, I just don't think she wants to run the business. It sounds to me like Holly wanted to dabble in the Miata aftermarket biz but /didn't/ want to give it 110% of her time. So it's a hobby. Every once in awhile, when the mood strikes, she'll print a catalog or answer email. If your order happens to cross her doorstep when she's in a WIZ mood you get lucky and receive what you ordered. If not, then it's forgotten while she goes waterskiing or whatever. It seems that at this point she has probably figured out that running WIZ is more time and energy than she's willing to spend and is letting it die a quiet death. At least she's not cashing checks and not sending stuff out (is she?) As to personal crises, yes they can take a huge toll on a business, but this is an online business! How long does it take to compose an email explaining the situation, suggesting what will happen and how long it will go on, and then click the little flying envelope button? No. Holly's crisis is of her own creation and the best thing we can do is what I did after reading this thread the first time; don't order stuff from WIZ. If we just can't live without pneumatic lifts for our hoods, I'm sure that some enterprising netter like Bill Cardell can put together a "Flyin' Miata Hood Lift" that works as well or better, an actually gets delivered when you order it. Just MNSHO. -John ------------------------------------------------ John Freas (jfreas@gte.net) Red '90 Base #7690 Deer Park, Long Island Team PBC Team Roebuck Team Voodoo Team "I have no idea what those dimple things on the windshield frame are for." ------------------------------------------------
