Just another thought on the downshifting theories. On the four stroke

bikes running in World Superbike, they use a clutch that slips in one

direction, IOW, it hooks up under power, but will not transmit much

power from the wheel to the engine. They don't want engine braking,

especially on the big, high compression twins. FWIW
