Just prior to changing add about 1/2 quart of auto transmission fluid to the oil and hold at 3K rpms for 10-15 minutes then drain and fill with Mobil 1. There is some evidence that using a Fram vs a Mazda filter will also help eliminate the noise at startup, I suspect this has to do with the Fram having a check (anti-drain) valve which is missing on the factory filter. > Good luck, Joe Pasch >
