I do the full Meguiar's 3 step process (not the red bottles, the beige bottles with numbers on them). First, you wash the car. Then you clean it to take off the old wax and any other chemicals that are on it. Then you polish it to make it shine like glass. Then you wax it to protect it until the next time you do all of this. I do it every 1 or 2 months. The Miata is so small and smooth it doesn't take too much work. Eric Hodges 96M "PIZZI-5"
