I spent 2 hours today on the front and hood of the car cleaning and waxing it. My new 97 Montego Blue seems to have alot of crap in the paint. :-( Over the last week I've done the driver's side, nose and hood, and trunk. Still have the other half to do. I've had no luck finding out which Cleaner I should be using in the professional line. I'm currently using the combination of - body cleaner (red bottle) - #9 Swirl Remover OR Showcar Glaze (number escapes me) - #26 Yellow Wax and either #1 or #2 for serious scuffs or whatnot.. If anyone can plug in a number for the cleaner (or do I need it with the Swirl Remover? its a montego blue, so its a pain as far as swirl marks go). The Meguirs' Site (www.meguirs.com) is EXCELLENT BTW. I'd love to add a random orbit buffer to the kit, since its a pain to do because of my tendonitis... I've not had any luck finding the Meguirs' branded Porter Cable random orbital buffer in Canada, and I'm guessing its damn expensive. I've considered picking up a Bosch or similar variable speed (4400-12000 Orbits per minute) sander and attempting to retrofit the Meguirs's bonnets (assuming I can find those). I'm guessing it would be alot cheaper than buying the real unit (the Bosch can be had for about $130 Canadian at Home Depot) It would be totally radical if I could find a good quality cordless variable speed random orbit 6" sander..
