Hi aaron, For '97 (and perhaps earlier) the miata has a '50 state' sticker. You didn't say what year your miata is. IF your asking because you want to bring a 49 state miata into california and want to know if it's the same, I think the car is the same but california penalizes you for bringing in a 49 state car. The california sticker is really a revenue generating device far more than a difference in emmissions, thought that wasn't always true.
