LadyBug stays outside as well (underneath an Ultralon car cover) and as an "R", it does not have an automatic antenna. (Minimalist philosophy and all that.) When I put the cover on I find that the antenna really isn't a problem. I screw it off and toss it in the passenger's seat. Ten seconds perhaps. Take the cover off, screw the antenna in - finger tight is fine - another 8.143 seconds. :-) Maybe I'be been unlucky, but I've never owned an automatic antenna that didn't at some point cause a problem.
