To which I (at the risk of pissing people off by belaboring an off-topic point) add: The paparazzi have behaved inexcusably towards many celebrities for a long time, and they have become increasingly aggressive and intrusive. One could argue that it comes with the territory of being a public figure, but at some point, it goes too far, and by buying those magazines and watching those shows, the public feeds such behavior. It appears clear that a combination of factors caused the accident, and the apparent fact that the driver was drunk (also inexcusable but he paid for the mistake with his life) does not eliminate the role that the photographers played in the incident.
