>I need to take mine in for the timing belt (I think) due to the 30,000 mark The belt is actually supposed to be changed at 60,000 miles. Or 60 months. You're only halfway there on one measure, but a couple of years late on the other. Unless you decide to change the front seal on the crank, there are no special tools needed. Not unless you count a really big (23 mm??) socket as a special tool. It's not very difficult, and well documented on the Miata.net thanks to Gary's recent set of pictures. To put your mind at ease, you may want to do it yourself. Or find a mechanic that you trust, ply him or her with all the details, and let 'em go at it. The dealer is not necessarily the best choice. But it might be. Treat the mechanic with some respect, and you'll get a better job. Bring your car in sparkling clean, and you'll show how important it is to you. Remember, the person working on your car is quite possibly there because they love cars. Starting off on an adversarial note is not the best way to encourage them to be careful. Keith and Baby, who hasn't seen any mechanics other than Keith for years. ------------ Keith's page de home: http://www.miata.net/keith Underground Miata Network: http://www.miata.net/umn ------------
