My understanding, after speaking to the Australian distributor for a half hour when I bought mine, was the connector in the well made poor "contact" due to the mositure. The electricity flows along the mositure instead of where it's meant to go. That's where the silicon spray they mention on their site comes in. It helps keep the moisture away. Not only that but it's possibly the reason for the high failure rate of the stock wires. Not really a failure of the wire but just accumulated moisture in the plug well. The warranty we have here is 10 year or 200,000km. Matt. Sprintex SC '94 Laguna Blue Clubman > > I'm no expert, but here's my take. The *wires* aren't the weak link in the > Miata.
