I suspect he meant...until you break the seal...



It's held on with a friction fit aided by some adhesive.  I wrapped a

shop rag around the grip and twisted with a pair of channel locks until

it broke the adhesive.  Then wiggle and pull, wiggle and pull.  When it

releases, your efforts will pull it toward the dash (radio panel area). 



Take care that you don't jam your hand against the panel when it comes

off.
