It's held on with a friction fit aided by some adhesive. I wrapped a shop rag around the grip and twisted with a pair of channel locks until it broke the adhesive. Then wiggle and pull, wiggle and pull. When it releases, your efforts will pull it toward the dash (radio panel area).
