I'm currently running at 12 BDTC (6 under boost). Do you think > I'm in trouble here? This is a little misconception. You are running 12 btdc at idle. You are not running 6 degrees under boost, rather you are taking 6 degrees out of the ecu's timing curve under boost. IOW, your car is probably actually running around 35 degrees of timing at say 3500 rpm. The MSD will pull out 6 degrees, whether you need the retard or not. What we have found is that the 1.6 doesn't need any retard below about 4,000 rpm, so you are losing midrange power by using the MSD. The J&S would help build your midrange power, as would a programmable ecu. Best idea for power is to intercool it somehow. FWIW. bill > Tony
