two caveats to jeffs method you're better off using 2nd or even 3rd gear to bump start, especially at SLOW speeds. if you dump the clutch in first you'll probably just lock up the rear wheels without spinning the engine fast enough to start it. in 2nd or 3rd there isn't as much torque stopping the wheels, the engine may spin slower than in 1st but it's got no choice but to spin instead of lock. 2nd thing is i wouldn't send the car off on it's own, especially in san francisco, yeah right, just take off the e-brake at the top of the hill on divisidero and the car will be going like 90mph and airborne in two blocks. don't think you can run fast enough (or fly high enough) to catch it! /^\dans On Fri, 31 Oct 1997, Jeff Anderson wrote: > On Fri, 31 Oct 1997 18:23:05 +0000 "Kevin Morrison" > <kevin@sunriders.com> writes: > >Ok guys, I've never push started a car...
