The MIL (malfunkshun indicator light) doesn't turn on until it senses the problem 3 times in a certain period of time of operation. I don't remember what it is supposed to be tho'. so it would have to occur 3 times in a weird time period to make it light up. Hence the observed delay. >From the Kalevala Robert Ullrich
