My old Chev, and I would guess most cars, can be adjusted by simply loosening the striker plate on the door or/and latching mechanism on the body, moving it as desired and then tightening - simple. Has your car been in an accident by any chance since it is misaligned and you can hear the wind whistling?....first thought that came to my mind.
