i periodically run my work "war wagon" through an automatic car wash cause i really couldn't give a S--T about it. the miata is hand washed by ME ONLY. i think if you are brave enough to run a miata through an auto-wash.....you're tempting "Murphy's Law" and sooner or later Murph is gonna bite you in da butt. all auto-washers have signs saying that they are not responsible for any damage you may incure and to use at your own risk. which means if and WHEN something goes wrong, i.e. the top getting shredded, it's your problem. if this happens you're looking at alot more expense than just a $400. top........can you say "flooded interior"? my advice to you: hand wash and wax that baby and love every stroke of it. garranteed to look better and look better longer than an auto-wash.
