Chris,

I did exactly the same thing to my Miata about 6 years ago, using a junkyard

RX-7  actuator.  It was fun to do and works great.  I then ran a wire from

the extra remote on my Ungo security system and can open my trunk with my

key-fob controller (through a relay, of course.)
