Hello List -- This weekend I was inspired by the list to Dynamat the door in my 92 with a custom exhaust. After applying two 6 inch wide strips to the exterior sheet metal of each door and filling the each doors structural beam with spray-in foam, I found a unexpected benefit. When I took the car for a trip on the highway the 3200 RPM resonance of my custon exhaust was nearly gone. I could actually easily hear the stereo at highway cruising speeds. The only hint of the remaining drone was coming directly from behind the seats -- hopefully some judicious application of Dynamat to the floor of the trunk or firewall will kill that as well. FYI, the interior of the door was fairly easy to access without removing all of the tar and the moisture barrier. I was able to get away with only releasing the bottom half of the plastic sheet from the door and folding it up with a piece of masking tape to keep it out of the way. I don't think that completely removing the sheet would allow enough extra access to the door interior to make the hassle worthwhile. The entire project took around 90 minutes start to finish and the stereo sounds great as well. Regards, Don -- R.
