Oooh, yet another opportunity to voice an opinion on a subject on which I

have no direct experience :)

I don't think there's such a thing as too-cold air.  The car runs on

ambient air until the engine compartment warms up.  All the CAI does is

give you something closer to that temperature after it warms up.  As to the

thermostat, it fits in the same hole, I would expect that it matters not at

all if you elect not to change it.
