If it were me - and assuming you have the stronger crank nose: 1. Get a beginner (or advanced) turbo kit from Bill Cardell. 2. Pull the engine and put in a heavy duty clutch - probably could use one anyway. Replace seals and have the valves lapped. Tap oil holes for the new turbo. Since you could do all this yourself (maybe farm out the head work) it will be cost effective and manageable. It will be upgradeable too. Engine swaps are always harder than they should be. My neighbor had his rotary out twice this year for seals. The crank is higher on the engine and looks like a difficult swap to a Miata IMO. This is just me dreaming again..
