} As I walked toward my office building's front door this morning, on the } concrete plaza outside I spied a slug that had struck the ground } head-first, presumably having been fired skyward at midnight. It is fairly } short but of significant diameter, probably a quarter-inch, and has a } copper jacket that was peeled back from the tip on impact. Maybe a .357 or } 45. Scary! Whoever fired it wasn't f**king around. Also, at about } midnight last night I heard someone rapidly fire off four or five rounds } from a semiautomatic weapon. What a town! Err, if it's about .25" in diameter AFTER hitting the ground nose-first (which tends to increase a bullet's diameter), it sure wasn't 357 or .45 before hitting the ground.
