While the Trillium club was ogling the two Miatas in Toronto, I was in Montreal checking out the five Miatas there. Silver base, red base (with the body bits - ugly spoiler!), Twilight with leather, Grace Green with leather (with hardtop in place) and black with leather. The Leather cars have the 3-spoke Nardi wheel in Canada. The base model doesn't. Nice wheel. The top (while a little tight) was very familiar in operation. The top boot is made out of much thinner material, and now uses snaps in place of the four Tenax clips. It also had the straps underneath as did most of the M1s. New font on the speedometer - holy cow, was it ever busy with all those markings. Not as easy to read at first glance, but I guess you'd learn where the numbers were. All cars had the rough tough paint on the lower panels. It's very obvious on the doors, actually. The M1 was able to hide the transition between textures in the crease, where the M2 doesn't have that option. My father commented on it. It feels alien opening the door. I had to pull a different direction! Once in, though, everything felt very familiar. Tires were Michelin Pilots on the 15" wheels (looked like all-season tread) and Yokohama somethings on the 14". Seemed to be the old pattern on the Yokos. For the same price as a base Miata, you can get an Impreza RS. Oooohhhh......
