Dean, According to Automobile Magazine (that's twice today I've quoted them) the Z07 will go into production for the 1999 model year as the Z8 (Car and Driver called it the Z7). The car will come in at around $95,000 in the US. The car will reportedly receive a 5.0 liter V8 from the upcoming M5 that produces 440 hp and 370 lb-ft of torque. Whether the US will get that potent power plant is not clear, but it looks like it probably will. Zero to 60 times will probably be in the 4.5 second range, and top speed will reportedly be limited to 156 mph.
