I learned from several that although they may know a lot, their bottom line job is to sell and, not to "enthuse." After giving it some thought and putting myself in their shoes, I agree. Even if the salesperson does know more, I would not want to show up the "enthusiast" ...rather "learn" from him...encourage he or she to bring their club by, etc. As for looking stupid, I've yet to find someone who has what I want and not willing to sell it to me for my ridiculous low bids "stupid" :) ..now, the maintenance department...that's another angle to the story....
