Shaw, Most likely nothing. I made a protector out of a length of water pipe insulation (3/4" galvanize pipe--type) with a thick towel folded around it like you would drape a towel over your arm. The extended "tail" goes on top of the lower part of the window to protect the upper and lower surfaces from rubbing together, and the 2" dia. foam keeps the fold in the window from becoming too sharp. I have folded the top this way for the last 2 yrs with no noticeable effects. The top and window are 8 1/2 yrs old. My top stays folded except during active rain or when the temp is over 90 F and it's just to hot for comfort. That equates with well over 330 days top down per year. That's my experience, FWIW.
