The other roads are not in my "turf" so I'll let others comment. Bear in mind that the above mentioned roads are thru the rugged San Gabriel Mts. and are quite twisty but the corners tend to be quite blind and this time of year can contain large amounts of fallen rock. It is imprudent to drive them at a speed faster than which you can stop should the need arise around one of the afore mentioned corners due to the afore mentioned debris. If it has snowed within the last 48 hrs forget them all together. They can be very fun to run but require good luck in the timing department. Ralph Alder SoCal 90 Red A PS. One of my favorite N/S roads is SR 58 between Paso Robles and McKittrick on SR 33. If you're coming south on 101 and need some distraction, SR 58 to SR 33 and then down to Ventura would be delightful. A San Luis Obispo county map from AAA would be a big help.
