Alloys use lug nuts with a 60-degree taper on the seating surface. Some
steel wheel lug nuts are flat-bottomed.  I have never owned steel wheels
for my Miata, so I don't know what lug nuts they are supplied with, but if
your lug nuts have the taper, they should be OK. If not, you need new ones.
