Ok... here's another one for the "Stupid" list....   last summer, cruising
though the back country roads, enjoying perfect topdown weather...  get the
mental picture??

Ok... just after a few twisty sections of road, I came up on a pretty staight,
flat stretch.  For some reason, in the corner of my eye, I noticed my cell
phone was loose sliding around in the passenger side floor.  I tried reaching
for it to put it in safe keeping... but couldn't reach it easily.   Ok,...
stretch.... streeeeetch!!  Got it!... but wait, where are my eyes looking???
not at the road!!!

Just as I grabbed the phone and looked out the windshield again... I realized
I was on my way OFF the road!  Fortunately, the shoulder off the road was very
wide but with all the grass, it was very hard to come to a stop.  I just
lightly pressed the brakes to keep from totally loosing control... and it paid
off: no damage, no collisions with anything.

Perhaps the worst (and probably the best) thing about it was that there was a
young couple in a pickup truck ahead of me that saw the whole thing.  They
turned around to see if I was alright and ask what happened.  Boy, I was so
embarrassed!  Serves me right and I certainly learned not to do that again.
