Another plus for the butane beauties - fit on the torch tip, and you 
can solder 8AWG wire into a battery-post-sized-solder-lug no problem 
- try that with an electric iron, or even with the butane iron with a 
regular tip, for that matter!

I suppose a word of caution would be in order when 
using a butane iron and splicing/soldering under the hood, as in the 
case of rerouting/replacing the MAF sensor, etc.

Oh, I use a (BIC) lighter for heat shrink tubing applications.
