But Dan, you know they will only triple the fines and insurance until
it is luxuriously profitable again.

What's astonishing to me is the attitude of saying you're wasting
their money, but I don't see them screaming about the hundreds of
thousands of dollars wasted in maintaining excessive police forces
just to arbitrarily harass people out of money!  Could you believe I
read in my town's newspaper a quote saying they "could lay off half
the police force and the remaining half would still have nothing to
do, if it wasn't for the speeding problem"?  I bet you can predict
what the "problem" is.. four lane roads with 35mph limits...
