AutoWeek Magazine reviews the new Miata in the May 4 issue on its regular "Car
Board" short-takes feature.

The authors state that driving the '99 "is like visiting an old, dear friend
who's gotten, well, a facelift.  It's slightly heavier, but also more
powerful, more sports car, and just as much fun."

Taking a swipe at SUV buyers, the board recommends that they "should be
required to drive a Miata for a week to remember just how enjoyable motoring
so close to the ground is..."
